Research Impact & Significance – Photocatalytic protonation is one of the very important route to synthesize lot important organic molecules because it is free from expensive and non-toxic metals. Since this can be carried out by using both UV and visible light source, so we can carry out the reaction with very cheap visible light sources without having any side products which might be a very useful synthetic route for many biologically active molecules like Ibuprofen, Ketoprofen etc. in near future in a commercial scale.
